Land acquisition and disposal is a team effort with inputs from a number of disciplines including some if not all of the following :- Town Planner, Engineering including Traffic, Civil & Hydrologist, Land Surveyor & Valuer, Solicitor, Architect , Ecologist, Archaeologist and Project Development Surveyor . In short it can be a complicated process.
Site Finding – We source off market sites for our housebuilder and developer contacts. Developers can sign up to a monthly or quarterly subscription per each market sector for sites to be brought forward to them according to their requirement. We have recently in summer of 2016 received an allocation for a site in the green belt in Glasgow and now proceeding to detailed planning.
We have sites at various stages going through Local Development Plans and we are currently assessing at a site for select upmarket housing in West Scotland, which is not allocated but we think there is a good opportunity to promote this site in the emerging Local Plan.
We have a ‘white land’ windfall site which is an infill piece of land which is under contract to a developer just undergoing a site investigation.
A number of Social Housing sites have been bought in the last year also for Housing Associations or RSLs (Registered Social landlords). We work with builders who secure a D& B contract with the RSL.
